Synthesis of all-E- and 9Z-heteroaryl-retinoic acid applying palladium catalyzed coupling reaction of (arylvinyl)tributyl stannane with vinyl triflate
Wada,Babu,Shimomoto,Ito
, p. 1759 - 1762 (2001)
Palladium catalyzed cross coupling reactions of (arylvinyl)tributyl stannanes with vinyl triflates resulted in the production of stereochemically pure trisubstituted E- and Z-olefins in very good yields. These olefins were transformed to the corresponding all-E- and 9Z- heteroaryl-retinoic acid analogs via Horner-Emmons reaction and subsequent basic hydrolysis in excellent yields.

, p. 2578 - 2585 (2021/03/18)
Transition metal-catalyzed hydroalkynylation reactions are efficient transformations allowing the straightforward formation of functionalized alkynes. Therein, we disclose the cobalt-catalyzed hydroalkynylation of vinylaziridines giving rise to both linea
Pd/Cu-Catalyzed Vinylation of Terminal Alkynes with (2-Bromoethyl)diphenylsulfonium Triflate

supporting information, p. 6795 - 6800 (2021/09/08)
The potential of (2-bromoethyl)diphenylsulfonium triflate to be a powerful vinylation reagent was determined by the Sonogashira cross-coupling reactions with terminal alkynes. The vinylation proceeded smoothly at 25 °C under Pd/Cu catalysis to afford a variety of 1- and 2-unsubstituted 1,3-enynes in moderate to excellent yields. This protocol represents the first application of (2-haloethyl)diphenylsulfonium triflate as a CH═CH2 transfer source in organic synthesis.
Cyclohepta[ b]indole Synthesis through [5 + 2] Cycloaddition: Bifunctional Indium(III)-Catalyzed Stereoselective Construction of 7-Membered Ring Fused Indoles
Takeda, Takuya,Harada, Shinji,Okabe, Akito,Nishida, Atsushi
, p. 11541 - 11551 (2018/09/25)
A new approach for the synthesis of highly functionalized tetrahydrocyclohepta[b]indoles through [5 + 2] cycloaddition was developed. Two carbon-carbon bonds were formed by the simple addition of an indium catalyst, which acted as both a δ-Lewis acid and σ-Lewis acid to activate the alkyne and unsaturated ester, respectively. The reaction could be applied to various substrates and proceeded regio- and diastereoselectively in all cases.
A new protocol for nickel-catalysed regio- and stereoselective hydrocyanation of allenes
Arai, Shigeru,Hori, Hiroto,Amako, Yuka,Nishida, Atsushi
, p. 7493 - 7496 (2015/05/04)
Regio- and stereoselective hydrocyanation under nickel catalysis is described. This report shows that allenyl C-C double bonds are discriminated and converted to the corresponding carbonitriles as a single product. The key functionalities for achieving high regio- and stereocontrol are aryl and cyclopropyl groups in the substrates. This journal is
An efficient method for the production of terminal alkynes from 1,1-dibromo-1-alkenes and its application in the total synthesis of natural product dihydroxerulin
Liu, Shihui,Chen, Xiaobei,Hu, Yanwei,Yuan, Laiqi,Chen, Shaohua,Wu, Ping,Wang, Wei,Zhang, Shilei,Zhang, Wei
, p. 553 - 560 (2015/03/05)
An efficient method of preparing various terminal alkynes from 1,1-dibromo-1-alkenes by using TBAF (tetra-n-butylammonium fluoride) as a base and triphenylphosphane as a reductant was developed. This method is strong base and low/high temperatures free, and can tolerate a broad range of substrates. These advantages were well demonstrated by the application of this method to the total synthesis of polyene natural product dihydroxerulin.

Nine 5-aryl-2-methyloxazole derivatives were synthesized via gold-catalyzed alkyne oxidation. All of the compounds have been screened for their antiproliferative activities against MCF-7 cell (human breast carcinoma), A549 cell (human lung carcinoma) and
Efficient synthesis of maleimides and carbazoles via Zn(OTf) 2-catalyzed tandem annulations of Lsonitriles and allenic esters
Li, Yuanzhen,Zou, Haixia,Gong, Jianxian,Xiang, Jing,Luo, Tuoping,Quan, Junmin,Wang, Guoxin,Yang, Zhen
, p. 4057 - 4060 (2008/02/11)
Lewis acid Zn(OTf)2-catalyzed tandem annulations of isonitriles and allenic esters which lead to efficient and flexible syntheses of a range of biologically significant maleimides and carbazoles and related compounds are reported. A mechanistic rationale is proposed to account for the observed reactivity.
Development of highly stereoselective asymmetric 6π- azaelectrocyclization of conformationally flexible linear 1-azatrienes. From determination of multifunctional chiral amines, 7-alkyl cis-1-amino-2-indanols, to application as a new synthetic strategy: Formal synthesis of 20-epiuleine

, p. 5906 - 5925 (2007/10/03)
The highly stereoselective asymmetric 6π-azaelectrocyclization was achieved as a general synthetic method based on the reaction between the (E)-3-carbonyl-2,4,6-trienal compounds and the (-)-7-alkyl-cis-l-amino-2-indanol derivatives which are effective chiral amines. The 7-alkyl-substituted 2-indanol moiety of the cyclized products was efficiently removed by the novel manganese dioxide oxidation under remarkably mild conditions, and the method was successfully applied to the formal synthesis of optically active 20-epiuleine.
