The first examples of trimeric iridium cluster complexes [(IrH2LL′)3(μ3-H)](BF4)2 (L = PCy3 or PPh3; L′ = pyridine or MeCN) are described and their X-ray structures discussed. The hydrogen ligands were located from the 1H NMR spectra of the complexes. Chemical studies are also discussed. The compound belongs to the space group P1 [Ci1] No. 2 (Z = 2) with unit cell dimensions a = 14.279 (5) A?, b = 14.515 (5) A?, c = 23.173. (9) A?, α = 76.05 (3)°, β = 80.61 (3)°, and 7 = 72.74 (3)°. A total of 6234 reflections were used, and the final R factors were R = 0.058 and Rw = 0.083.
