It was found that the reaction of 2-chloroacetamido/chloropropioamido-5- benzylthiazole with potassium thiocyanate gave, via rearrangement, 2-[(5-benzyl-1,3-thiazol-2-yl)imino]-1,3-thiazolidin-4-ones.
