Polychlorinated leucine derivatives: Synthesis of (2S,4R)-5,5- dichloroleucine and its J-based analysis

A total synthesis of (2S,4R)-5,5-dichloroleucine is reported in 13 steps from (S)-methyl 2-(hydroxymethyl)propanoate. A density functional J-based analysis of this compound and a comparison with that of its (2S,4S) epimer is also performed in order to com
