The interval between pretreatment with moxalactam and EtOH administration that led to the greatest increase in AcH concn. in blood ranged 3-24 h. In a 2nd study using healthy volunteers, no drugs known to interact with disulfiram were taken for 14 days prior to the study, and no alc. was allowed within 48 h of the study. No influence of moxalactam on EtOH elimination or AcH clearance was found. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid alc. or alc.-contg. medication until 3 or 5 days after the last antibiotic dose. .
