The production method of this chemical is as follows:  Cadmium nitrate could be produce by dissolving cadmium metal or its oxide, hydroxide, or carbonate, in the solvent of nitric acid followed by crystallization: CdO + 2HNO3 → Cd(NO3)2 + H2O.

As to its usage, it is widely applied in many ways. It could be used to produce catalytic agent, battery, cadmiferous drug, cadmium salt, cadmium oxide, and analytical reagent; It could be also used as the reagent to test zinc and ferrocyanide.

When you are using this chemical, please be very cautious, and then take some measure to protect yourself. For one thing, it is irritant to eyes, skin. And if by inhalation, in contact with skin or swallowed, it will be very harmful. Then it may even cause cancer. For another thing, it is toxic to our environment. Being toxic to aquatic organisms, it may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment. Therefore, you should take the following instructions. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, and then avoid exposure - obtain special instruction before use.
