Oxidation of (2R,4R)-2,4-disubstituted thiazolidines with m-CPBA affords the trans sulfoxide exclusively.Oxidation of (2R,4R)-4-hydroxymethyl thiazolidines with Ti(OiPr)4/TBHP, however, favors to give the cis sulfoxide.
