Buxus papilosa C.K.Schneider (Buxaceae), of Pakistani origin, has yielded the new alkaloids (+)-buxabenzamidienine (1), (+)-16α-acetoxybuxabenzamidienine (2), (+)-buxotrienine (3), (-)-buxanoldine (4), and (+)-buxanaldinine (5).Six generalizations have been drawn which relate specific rotations to stuctural features.
