The applicability of Helmchen's methods for the separation and determination of absolute configuration of enantiomers via diastereoisomeric phenylethylamides has been tested with 2-fluoro- and 2-methylhexanoic acids, then succesfully applied to 2-fluoro-2-methylhexanoic acid.
