A new ent-atis-16-ene diterpene was isolated from the rhizomes of Euphorbia acaulis. On the basis of chemical and spectral evidence and its partial synthesis by the sodium borohydride reduction of 3-oxoatisane- 16α, 17- diol, its structure was established as ent-atisane-3β,16α,17-triol.
