The structure of cassialactone isolated from the seeds of Cassia obtusifolia was revised as (S)-3,4-dihydro-9,10-dihydroxy-3-hydroxymethyl-7-methoxy-3-methyl-1H-naphtho<2,3-c>pyran-1-one based on X-ray analysis and its CD spectrum.
