Insertion of the fragile 2'-deoxyribosylurea residue into oligodeoxynucleotides

Deoxyribosylurea is an alkali sensitive DNA defect induced by the action of ionizing radiation. Oligonucleotides bearing this residue were synthesized using 5'-O-(4-methoxytrityl)-2'-deoxyribosylurea-3'-O-(2-cyanoethyl-N,N'-dii sopropyl)phosphoramidite and PAC protected deoxynucleoside phosphoramidites.
