An effective synthesis of the α-allylglycoside 13 of the trisaccharide L-α-D-Hep-(1->3)-L-α-D-Hep-(1->5)-α-Kdo is developed using the trichloroacetimidate method.The trisaccharide 14 carrying a cysteamine spacer is copolymerized with acrylamide to polymer 16 containing the trisaccharide 13 in immunogenic form.
