(2S,3R) 2-carboxy-3-pyrrolidine acetic acid was synthetized from (S)-pyroglutamic acid by a route involving the conjugate addition of t-butyl-2-lithiophenylthioacetate to N-methoxycarbonyl α,β-unsaturated lactam.
