A new approach to the solid-phase peptide synthesis of peptide alkyl-amides and esters

The use of the α-(4-hydroxymethyl-3-nitrobenzamido)benzylpolystyrene (4-hydroxymethyl-Nbb resin) to obtain peptide esters and amides is reported. The lability of the peptide-resin bond to methanol, methylamine, dimethylamine and hexylamine has been tested on three peptidyl-resin models with encouraging results.
