The dinuclear {[(Me₃Si)₂N]V[μ-N(SiMe₃)-Si(Me) ₂CH₂]}₂ complex, containing a four-membered metallacyclic ring, has been obtained via reaction of VCl₃(THF)₃ with (Me₃Si)₂NLi. The reactivity of the metallacycle has been investigated with respect to the coordination of bases, hydrogenation, and insertion of alkynes.
