3,6-Dioxoperhydropyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazines as templates for peptidomimetics

The synthesis of 4,7-di- and 4,7,7-trisubstituted 3,6-dioxoperhydropyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazine-7-carboxylate derivatives is described. The approach used for the preparation of this heterocyclic template is based on the reductive amination of 4-ketodiesters derived from dipeptides.
