The reaction of dicyanomethylene compound 1 with nitrosoarene yields α- imino-β-dicyanomethylidene-α,β-diketobutyric acid anilides 2. Treatment of 2 with various nucleophiles leads to polyfunctional derivatives of pyrroline system 4-7.
