Synthesis of new functionalized cyclic dipeptide

An efficient method has been developed for the synthesis of the functionalized cyclic dipeptide 6. The key step involves cyclisation of the linear dipeptide prepared by coupling a suitably protected β-amino acid with N-benzyl-t-butylglycinate.
