Chiral allyltitaniums prepared from cyclic carbamate of optically active 4-aminoalk-1-en-3-ols and a Ti(O-i-Pr)₄/2i-PrMgCl reagent react with aldehydes with good to excellent regio- and stereoselectivity to afford optically active 1.5-amino alcohols, from which optically active 2,6-cis- disubstituted piperidines are synthesized.
