The preparation and properties of dihydridodinitrogen complexes of iron(II), FeH₂(N₂)L₃(L=PetPh₂, PBuPh₂) are described. FeH₂(N₂)(PEtPh₂)₃ reacts with CO, to give the very stable FeH₂(CO)(PEtPh₂)₃. Both these complexes react in a 1:1 ration with AlEt₃ and possible routes of reaction are discussed.
