The preparation and properties of dihydridodinitrogen complexes of iron(II), FeH2(N2)L3(L=PetPh2, PBuPh2) are described. FeH2(N2)(PEtPh2)3 reacts with CO, to give the very stable FeH2(CO)(PEtPh2)3. Both these complexes react in a 1:1 ration with AlEt3 and possible routes of reaction are discussed.
