B1-Alkenyl-9-borabicyclo<3.3.1>nonanes (B-1-alkenyl-9-BBN), easily and quantitatively prepared by the reaction of 9-BBN with various alkynes, undergo a facile reaction with the commercially available 4-methoxy-3-buten-2-one in diethyl ether at room temperature to provide conjugated dienones in essentially quantitative yields.
