The structure of a new sesquiterpene alcohol from the liverwort Lepidozia reptans has been established as 1(10)-spirovetiven-7β-ol by means of spectroscopic methods and chemical conversion. The configuration of the sesquiterpene was proved by enantioselective gas chromatography. The sesquiterpene alcohol was previously described as a constituent of Lepidozia reptans without further investigation of the structure.
