Lithiated α,β-unsaturated aldehyde N,N-dimethylhydrazones reacted with alkyl halides accompanying a double bond rearrangement to give α-alkylated β,γ-unsaturated aldehyde N,N-dimethylhydrazones in satisfactory yields.Using this reaction, the sesquiterpene
