The photochemistry of 3-methoxy-4,4-diphenyl-2,5-cyclohexadienone was studied.The type A rearrangement proved to be regioselective with a preference for formation of 4-methoxy-6,6-diphenylbicyclo<3.1.0>hex-3-en-2-one relative to 5-methoxy-6,6-diphenylbicy
