Platelet aggregation inhibiting and anticoagulant effects of oligoamines, I: N-(4-piperidinyl)methanamines

In concentrations of some μmol/l, 4-aminomethyl-4-phenylpiperidines suitably aralkylated at position 1 inhibit the platelet aggregation induced by collagen. The most potent compound 10 shows an IC₅₀ of 5.5 · 10⁶ mol/l. The metabolism of arachidonic acid in platelets remains unchanged. At a concentration of 10^-4 mol/l 10 also depresses the fibrin formation induced by thromboplastin to 25 percent of normal.
