reduction of 14 with LiAlH gave alkene 15 with complete E-

the fatty acid (E)-12 in 92% yield.

A simple solution was to install the methyl group on the amine

In conclusion, (+)-serinolamide A (2) has been synthesized
for the first time in 9 steps from L-serine with 30% overall yield.
The synthesis method provides
a facile, practicable and
economical approach to the preparation of other similar
endocanabinoid lipids.
