The nucleophilic vinylic substitution reaction of (E)-α-haloenyne sulfones 2, 5-8 with sodium alkoxides proceeded regioselectively to give (E)-α-alkoxyenyne sulfones 9-17 in high yields with exclusive retention of their configuration.
