(20) The A/K ratio is 11.4 if all of the hydrogen peroxide is added at
once. However, in preparative reactions, the yield is slightly decreased
if all the H2O2 is added at once, probably because of the competing
disproportionation reaction.

(24) An excess of triphenylphosphine added to the final reaction
mixture reduces the hydroperoxide eventually formed. If GC analysis
of the reaction mixture does not significantly change before and after
the addition of triphenyl phosphine, it can be concluded that
hydroperoxide is not formed to a significant extent. See: Shulpin, G.
B.; Nizova, G. V. React. Kinet. Catal. Lett. 1992, 48, 333−338.
(25) H218O incorporation is dependent on the H2O concentration.
However, saturation is usually reached before 1000 equiv of water (see
ref 6).
(26) Such a lack of effect of acetic acid has been documented only
once for a nonheme iron complex bearing a pentadentate ligand. In
this case, Hitomi et al.2e rationalized that the powerful electron-
donating ability of an amide moiety binding to the ferric center trans to
the hydroperoxide ligand exerted a push-effect that facilitated
heterolytic O−O cleavage.
