Three intramolecular charge transfer ( CT ) compounds, which exhibit clear CT transition for symmetry allowed CT interaction, have been synthesized and examined.In addition, a possible way to introduce new type of interstack interactions in the solid state was proposed from the crystal structure of 7,10-ethenocycloheptanaphthalene-8,9-dicarbonitrile.
