The reaction of CH2C(CH3)2OH with Cu(+)aq yields the short-lived transient complex (Cu(II)CH2C(CH3)2OH)(+)aq.The spectrum of the latter complex is reported. (Cu(II)CH2C(CH3)2OH)(+)aq decomposes into < eq. >.The specific rate of this reaction is 5.0*1E4+8.
