myo-Inositol 1,4,6-trisphosphate, in optically inactive and active forms, was prepared in order to compare its biological activity with that of myo- inositol 1,3,4,6-tetrakisphosphate which releases Ca²⁺ from an intracellular store. myo-Inositol 1,4,6-trisphosphate, in optically inactive and active forms, was prepared in order to compare its biological with that of myo-inositol 1,2,4,6-tetrakisphosphate which releases Ca ²⁺ from an intracellular store.
