The reaction of two equivalents of Cp2ZrHCl (1) with Cp(CO)2Re=CHR (2, R = CH2CH2CMe3; 4, R = CH3) led to the formation of the heterobimetallic μ-alkylidene complexes Cp2Zr(μ-CHR)(μ,η¹,η²-CO)Re(CO)Cp (3, R = CH2CH2CMe3; 5, R = CH3).
