S. S. KANDIL
[Pt(HL)Cl2] was prepared by addition of a solution HL1 or HL2 in ethanol to an
aqueous solution of K2[PtCl4] under reflux, in a 1:1 ligand:metal molar ratio. The mixture
was heated with stirring for 12 h and then cooled. The resulting solid was filtered off;
washed with H2O, EtOH, and Et2O; and dried in vacuo over silica gel.
[M(L)2] was prepared by heating a mixture of the PdCl2 or PtCl2 (0.002 mol) and
the ligand HL1(0.004mol) or HL2 (0.004 mol) for 2 h under reflux temperature in Me2CO
(50 mL). The precipitated products were collected by filtration, washed with Me2CO, and
dried in vacuo over silica gel.
