The sequential formation of two C-C bonds by reaction of Grignard reagents with (E)-1-halo-2-arylselenoethylenes in the presence of NiCl₂ (PPh₃)₂ catalyst provides a stereoselective synthesis of (E)-1,2-disubstituted ethenes in high yield.
