Low temperature ¹H and ²H nmr are consistent with the presence of peroxonium intermediates in the intramolecular alkylation of two different bromoperoxides.In one case decomposition of this peroxonium intermediate results in unusual heterolytic oxygen-oxygen bond cleavage and methyl migration.
