The <6>(2,4)pyridinophane derivatives <(11a) and (11b)> have been prepared by treating 4,5,6,7,8,9-hexahydro-1H-cyclo-octapyrrole (5b) with dichloro- and dibromo-carbene, respectively.The respective yields of compounds (11a) and (11b) obtained were modest and poor.
