The synthesis of <2,3,5,6-η⁴-bicyclo<2.2.1>hepta-2,5-diene>-(E)-bis(2-ethoxy-naphth-1-yl)platinum(II) has been described.As a consequence of the two adjacent naphthalene rings the compound has a stationary E-conformation; there is no rotation about the platinum-carbon ?-bonds.
