General method for preparing polyiodide salts
Compound 11b
For polyiodide salts, the respective iodide compounds were mixed
with elemental iodine in stoichiometric amounts in ethanol or ace-
tone; the mixture was stirred at 50–608C until all the solvent had
evaporated. The solid residue was dried under vacuum at 508C
overnight to obtain the corresponding polyiodide.
