Infrared spectral assignments are made for the semicrystalline thermoplastic polyimide derived from 3,3',4,4'-benzophenonetetracarboxylic dianhydride (BTDA) and 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-(4-aminophenoxy)-propane (DMDA).Model imide compounds have been synthesized to assist in the interpretation of the polyimide's infrared spectrum.The infrared and Raman spectra of BTDA and DMDA have also been analyzed to aid in the identification of the peak assignments for the polyimide.
