The standard enthalpy of formation of liquid and gaseous ethylchloroformate (C3H5O2Cl)

By use of commercial solution calorimeter and pressure gauge the standard enthalpy of hydrolysis at 298.15 K, and vapour pressures over the range 280.6 K to 286.4 K, of ethylchloroformate have been determined.The derived results are ΔH_f⁰(C3H5O2Cl, l, 298.15 K) = -(497.3 +/- 1.7) kJ mol^-1 and ΔH_f⁰(C3H5O2Cl, g, 298.15 K) = -(459.4 +/- 1.7) kJ mol^-1.
