and SEM indicate that some of HPA exists on the external
surface of HPA/NaY and HPA/NaY/MCM-41 even after
washing with water. BET and XRD show the pore particles
are blocked by HPA. The preparation of 2-(4-nitrophen-
yl)-2,3-dihydro-1H-perimidine was carried out to test of
these catalysts. Results exhibited higher yields with use of
HPA/NaY and HPA/NaY/MCM-41. The formation of per-
imidine was affected by the pores diameter and the Bronsted
acidity of the catalysts.
