1-Alkyl-3-methoxy-2-methylthiopyrroles are obtained with high purities and in high yields by Cu(I)halide-catalyzed cyclization of the products from addition of 1-lithiomethoxyallene to alkyl isothiocyanates and subsequent methylation.
