In summary, we report the synthesis and characterization of a
new probe for the cascade uorogenic detection of trivalent ions
and phosphate ions. The probe L showed excellent “OFF–ON”
uorescence signals with high sensitivity and selectivity in the
presence of trivalent ions, whereas it remained silent in the
presence of monovalent and divalent cations such as Na+, K+,
Mg2+, Cu2+, Hg2+, Cd2+, Fe2+, Pb2+, Zn2+, Mn2+, Ca2+. A successive
“ON–OFF” uorescence switching was then observed in the
