For sensing the thiol in blood serum sample, fetal bovine
serum was used. In serum, most of the thiolꢀcontaining amino
acids were generally bound to proteins or other thiols and were in
the disulfide form.21 Those lowꢀmolecule mass thiols had been
become free in the serum after reduction with suitable reagents
and resulting solution were used for analysis. In the present study,
the disulfide bonds were reduced in order to release the proteinꢀ

according to literature report.22 The final serum concentration in
the test solution was 20ꢀfold diluted. For recovery studies, GSH
having known concentrations were added to the samples and the
total thiol concentrations were then determined.
