T hinning-caused ground re ectance change
4. Canopy re ectance models can be used to simulate the eVect of cutting waste
on ground re ectance. Thus, together with the theoretical estimates of cutting
waste coverage, the expected cutting-caused change in ground re ectance can
be simulated.
5. Further studies are needed to quantify the successional eVects in the ground
re ectance change as well as more systematic measurements of ground
re ectance in forests of diVerent site types.
