Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by La(OH)3 which is dried at 200 ℃, burning at 500 ℃, oxide decomposition at more than 840 ℃. At last, you can gain Lanthanum oxide.

Uses of Lanthanum oxide: It is used to develop ferroelectric materials, and in optical materials. Lanthanum oxide is used to make optical glasses, to which this oxide confers increased density, refractive index, and hardness. La2O3 is an ingredient for the manufacture of piezoelectric and thermoelectric materials. Automobile exhaust-gas converters contain La2O3. La2O3 is also used in X-ray imaging intensifying screens, phophors as well as dielectric and conductive ceramics. La2O3 has been examined for the oxidative coupling of methane. La2O3 films can be deposited by many different methods, including: chemical vapor disposition, thermal oxidation, sputtering, and spray pyrolysis.

When you are using this chemical, please be cautious about it as the following:
This chemical may cause inflammation to the skin or other mucous membranes. It is irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin. In case of contact with eyes, you should rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Whenever you will contact it, please wear suitable protective clothing and eye/face protection.
