Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 100475-97-6 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,0,0,4,7 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 100475-97:
(8*1)+(7*0)+(6*0)+(5*4)+(4*7)+(3*5)+(2*9)+(1*7)=96
96 % 10 = 6
So 100475-97-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Visible Light-Catalyzed Benzylic C-H Bond Chlorination by a Combination of Organic Dye (Acr+-Mes) and N-Chlorosuccinimide

Xiang, Ming,Zhou, Chao,Yang, Xiu-Long,Chen, Bin,Tung, Chen-Ho,Wu, Li-Zhu

, p. 9080 - 9087 (2020/08/14)

By combining "N-chlorosuccinimide (NCS)"as the safe chlorine source with "Acr+-Mes"as the photocatalyst, we successfully achieved benzylic C-H bond chlorination under visible light irradiation. Furthermore, benzylic chlorides could be converted to benzylic ethers smoothly in a one-pot manner by adding sodium methoxide. This mild and scalable chlorination method worked effectively for diverse toluene derivatives, especially for electron-deficient substrates. Careful mechanistic studies supported that NCS provided a hydrogen abstractor "N-centered succinimidyl radical,"which was responsible for the cleavage of the benzylic C-H bond, relying on the reducing ability of Acr?-Mes.

Dialkyl Ether Formation by Nickel-Catalyzed Cross-Coupling of Acetals and Aryl Iodides

Arendt, Kevin M.,Doyle, Abigail G.

, p. 9876 - 9880 (2015/08/19)

A new substrate class for nickel-catalyzed C(sp3) cross-coupling reactions is reported. α-Oxy radicals generated from benzylic acetals, TMSCl, and a mild reductant can participate in chemoselective cross-coupling with aryl iodides using a 2,6-bis(N-pyrazolyl)pyridine (bpp)/Ni catalyst. The mild, base-free conditions are tolerant of a variety of functional groups on both partners, thus representing an attractive C-C bond-forming approach to dialkyl ether synthesis. Characterization of a [(bpp)NiCl] complex relevant to the proposed catalytic cycle is also described.

Chemistry of photogenerated α-phenyl-substituted o-, m-, and p-quinone methides from phenol derivatives in aqueous solution

Diao, Li,Wan, Peter

, p. 105 - 118 (2008/09/18)

The enhanced photochemical reactivity of o-substituted phenols in its propensity to give o-quinone methide (o-QM) intermediates via excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) was uncovered by Keith Yates as part of his now classic studies of photohydration of aromatic alkenes, alkynes, and related compounds. Photogeneration of QMs and the study of their chemistry along with potential biological applications are the focus of many groups. In this work, photochemical precursors to o-, m-, and p-QMs based on substituted phenols (hydroxybenzyl alcohols) and related compounds have been studied in aqueous solution as a function of pH and water content. The focus will be on QMs that are stabilized by an a-phenyl substituent, which enhances quantum yields for their formation, with the resulting QMs having longer lifetimes and easier to detect. Noteworthy is that all QM isomers can. be photogenerated with the o and m isomers being the most efficient, consistent with the Zimmerman "ortho-meta" effect. m-QMs have formal non-Kekule structures, and although they can be routinely photogenerated, are found to be most reactive. One m-QM was found, to undergo a photocondensation reaction at high pH giving rise to m-substituted oligomers. The mechanism, of QM formation in aqueous solution is believed to involve singlet excited phenols that undergo adiabatic deprotonation to give the corresponding photoexcited phenolate ion, which subsequently expels the hydroxide ion (photodehydroxylation). A pathway involving direct loss of water for the o-isomers is also possible in organic solvents.

Generation and Reactions of 2-Alkoxydiphenylcarbenes in Fluid Solution and Rigid Matrices

Tomioka, Hideo,Nakanishi, Keisaku,Izawa, Yasuji

, p. 465 - 470 (2007/10/02)

Irradiation of 2-alkoxydiphenyldiazomethanes 1 in cyclohexane at room temperature produced 3-phenyldihydrobenzofurans 3 presumably as a result of intramolecular C-H insertion of 2-alkoxydiphenylcarbenes 2.Irradiation of compounds 1 in cyclohexane matrix at -196 deg C gave intermolecular C-H insertion products 4 at the expense of benzofurans 3.The formation of products 4 is explicable in terms of H-atom tunnelling to the triplet state of carbenes 2, followed by coupling of the resulting radical pairs.Product ratios 3:4 were somewhat sensitive to the bulk of the alkoxy group at the 2-position.This can be explained in terms of the matrix effect on the relative population of the rotational isomers of the carbene 2.Irradiation of compounds 1 in methanol at room temperature afforded O-H insertion products 5 almost exclusively, whereas irradiation in methanol matrix at -196 deg C gave C-H insertion products 6 along with other products 3 and 5.

Mechanism of Base-Catalyzed Desilylations of Aryl- and Heteroaryltrimethylsilanes

Effenberger, Franz,Spiegler, Wolfgang

, p. 3872 - 3899 (2007/10/02)

The influence of different bases on the cleavage of silicium-carbon bonds in aryl- and heteroaryltrimethylsilanes is investigated in the presence of benzaldehyde as electrophilic scavenger for the aryl and heteroaryl anions formed in this process.A reactivity gradation of the various basic catalysts employed is determined from the reactions with 2-(trimethylsilyl)benzothiazole (1).The increase of catalytic activity of the anions parallels that of their ion potential.Attack of the base at the Si atom is postulated as the first step in this reaction sequence, with subsequent dissociation of the pentacoordinated intermediate in the rate-determining step. The carbanion thus liberated rapidly reacts with benzaldehyde. In the differently substituted aryltrimethylsilanes 13, 13', and 13'' the dependency of aryl anion stability in the base-catalyzed carbodesilylation was investigated. The relative rates of reaction correlate with Hammett's ?-constants rather than with the corresponding aryl anion stabilities.
