, p. 1895 - 1898 (2020)
By using ambient air as the oxidant and malic acid as the promoter, a practical method for the preparation of 2-aminobenzothiazoles through visible-light-initiated cascade reaction of aromatic amines and KSCN in eco-friendly bis(methoxypropy)ether under metal-, hazardous additive-, photocatalyst-free conditions was established.
Synthesis, spectroscopic and DNA alkylating properties of malondialdehyde (MDA) bis-imine fluorescent adducts
Meguellati, Kamel,Spichty, Martin,Ladame, Sylvain
, p. 1694 - 1699 (2010)
The synthesis of a series of malondialdehyde (MDA) fluorescent adducts that mimic the well-known pentamethine cyanine dyes is reported. This new subclass of bis-imino dyes shares some common spectroscopic properties with their polymethine analogues althou

Visible-light photoredox catalytic approach for the direct synthesis of 2-aminobenzothiazoles from anilines
Dhar S. Yadav, Lal,Krishna Pal Singh, Rana,Singh, Manjula
, (2020/02/13)
A novel, highly efficient and convenient approach for the visible-light-promoted direct synthesis of 2-aminobenzothiazoles from anilines and ammonium thiocyanate is presented. The reaction involves addition/cyclization cascade of SCN radical and anilines under photoredox catalysis with Ru(bpy)3Cl2. The salient features of the protocol include the utilization of atmospheric oxygen and visible light as clean, inexpensive and sustainable resources at room temperature.
Metal-free synthesis of 2-aminobenzothiazoles via aerobic oxidative cyclization/dehydrogenation of cyclohexanones and thioureas
Zhao, Jinwu,Huang, Huawen,Wu, Wanqing,Chen, Huoji,Jiang, Huanfeng
supporting information, p. 2604 - 2607 (2013/07/11)
A metal-free process for the synthesis of 2-aminobenzothiazoles from cyclohexanones and thioureas has been developed using catalytic iodine and molecular oxygen as the oxidant under mild conditions. Various 2-aminobenzothiazoles, 2-aminonaphtho[2,1-d]thiazoles, and 2-aminonaphtho[1,2-d] thiazoles were prepared via this method in satisfactory yields.
1-Methyl-3-phenyl-3-thiocyanato-1H,3H-quinoline-2,4-dione: A Novel Thiocyanating Agent
Klasek, Antonin,Mrkvicka, Vladimir
, p. 747 - 752 (2007/10/03)
Under mild reaction conditions, the thiocyanato group is selectively transferred from 1-methyl-3-phenyl-3-thiocyanato-1H,3H-quinoline-2,4-dione (3) to some nucleophiles. Aliphatic primary and secondary amines are converted to S-cyanothiohydroxylamines, anilines afford p-thiocyanatoanilines, Wittig reagent is thiocyanated in α-position, and thiols are oxidized to disulfides.
PHOTOCHEMICAL SUBSTITUTION OF HALOGEN AND SO2X GROUPS BY THIOUREA AND THIOSEMICARBAZIDE. PHOTOSYNTHESIS OF AROMATIC DISULFIDES
Frolov, A. N.,Klokova, E. M.,El'tsov, A. V.
, p. 1926 - 1935 (2007/10/02)
During UV irradiation in the presence of thiourea (or thiosemicarbazide) the para- and ortho-halogen and sulfonyl derivatives of the benzene, naphthalene, and heterocyclic series with donating substituents in the ring are converted into arylisothiuronium salts.Thermal hydrolysis and oxidation of these salts lead to the formation of the respective diaryl disulfides in the case of the para isomers and thiazoles for the ortho isomers.
