Facile synthesis of aliphatic esters, malonates and phenylsulfonyl esters using copper-catalyzed addition of methallyl grignard reagent to activated cyclopropanes
Prowotorow,Wicha,Mikami
, p. 145 - 149 (2001)
Copper-mediated conjugate addition of allylic Grignard reagents to activated cyclopropane derivatives was studied. Unsaturated esters, malonates and phenylsulfonyl esters 2a-d were synthesized from the respective cyclopropanes 1a-d and methallylmagnesium
Radical Cyclization of Epoxy Vinyl- and Allylsulfones Promoted by Titanocene Chloride
Fernández-Mateos,Madrazo, S. Encinas,Teijón, P. Herrero,González, R. Rubio
, p. 4378 - 4391 (2015/05/13)
A titanocene-mediated intramolecular radical addition of different epoxy vinyl- and allylsulfones has been achieved. Five- and six-membered ring products were obtained in good to excellent yields in the presence of both 2.2 and 0.2 equiv of Cp2TiCl. A novel double-activation strategy allowed us to achieve small-size rings such as cyclobutanes and cyclopropanes. (Chemical Equation Presented).
Volatile amphibian pheromones: Macrolides from mantellid frogs from madagascar
Poth, Dennis,Wollenberg, Katharina C.,Vences, Miguel,Schulz, Stefan
supporting information; experimental part, p. 2187 - 2190 (2012/04/10)
Amphibians like water, but do they also notice volatile compounds in the air? Yes, they do. Macrolides, such as phoracantholide-J (see picture; upper right structure) or the newly discovered natural product gephyromantolide-A (left structure), are used for communication by mantelline frogs from Madagascar. Cobalt-catalyzed reductive allylation of alkyl halides with allylic acetates or carbonates
Qian, Xin,Auffrant, Audrey,Felouat, Abdellah,Gosmini, Corinne
supporting information; experimental part, p. 10402 - 10405 (2011/12/03)
An efficient method for the direct allylation of alkyl halides catalyzed by simple cobalt(II) bromide has been developed. This reaction, using a variety of substituted allylic acetates or carbonates, provides the linear product as the major product. It displays broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance. Iron-catalyzed cross-coupling of alkyl halides with alkenyl Grignard reagents
Guerinot, Amandine,Reymond, Sebastien,Cossy, Janine
, p. 6521 - 6524 (2008/09/16)
(Chemical Equation Presented) Cheap and safe: An iron-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction between alkyl halides and alkenyl Grignard reagents is described. This C-C bond coupling reaction is promoted by the cheap and nontoxic FeCl3 and displays good tolerance against various functional groups.
Taxane diterpenes 1. Control of relative and absolute stereochemistry in intramolecular pyrylium ylide-alkene cyclizations for the synthesis of taxol precursors
Bauta, William E.,Booth, John,Bos, Mary E.,DeLuca, Mark,Diorazio, Louis,Donohoe, Timothy J.,Frost, Christopher,Magnus, Nicholas,Magnus, Philip,Mendoza, Jose,Pye, Philip,Tarrant, James G.,Thom, Stephen,Ujjainwalla, Feroze
, p. 14081 - 14102 (2007/10/03)
Intramolecular pyrylium ylide-alkene cyclizations provide control of the absolute stereochemistry at the crucial C-19 angular methyl group, and leads to bicyclo[5.4.03,8]undecenones that contain the structral elements of the B/C rings of the taxanes.
